NCVH UPDATES DURING COVID-19

Given the recent announcement of our county's shelter-in-place order, we understand there may be confusion about whether you should keep your appointment with us. We will remain open to take care of your equine and livestock needs as caring for your pet is considered an essential activity and we are providing an essential service.

The following is from the order document from Humboldt County DHHS, section 9.b.i. listing allowed "Essential Activities":
"To engage in activities or perform tasks essential to their health and safety of their family or household members (including, but not limited to, pets), such as, by way of example only and without limitation, obtaining medical supplies or medication, visiting a health care professional, or obtaining supplies they need to work from home."

 To all of our clients,

The doctors and staff at North Coast Veterinary Hospital are doing all we can to minimize risk associated with the human Coronavirus, and we want you to know we are still here to take care of all your equine and livestock needs. Both offices will remain open with normal hours during this trying time.

We have increased hand-washing and sanitization of all office areas using appropriate cleaners and minimized staff in our front office. Of course, any staff member that is feeling unwell will stay home.  Our parking areas allow for plenty of distance between clients, and we are staggering at-hospital appointments as best we can to decrease the number of people we have in the clinic at one time. As always, our doctors are mobile and can come to you if needed.

All of these efforts will work best if we all work together as a team. Some things you can do to help us maintain social distancing and minimize exposing those who may be at higher risk include:

-Call before coming in to pick up supplies or medications. With advance notice, our office staff can have items ready to go                     when you get here rather than having you wait in the front office.
-Use the hand sanitizer at the front desk upon entering the office.
-Feel check in for your appointment from the parking lot by calling from your cell phone, and wait for our call with your invoice               total and payment options.
-Please realize our front office is very small so we can only accommodate one person at a time. If there is already someone                 being helped when you arrive, please wait outside until we call you in.
Thank you in advance for your help and patience!

Be safe and be well,

From the doctors and staff at North Coast Veterinary Hospital
